Nests 22, 23 & 24

June continues to bring us crawls and nests. This morning we had 4 crawls and eventually 3 new nests, numbers 22, 23, and 24.

Tory Kindley first called about a dead shark on the beach just north of Boardwalk 3. The Beach Patrol was contacted and either they or the tide will remove the animal. A few minutes later Tory called in a crawl about 50 yards south of Boardwalk 5. Mike Vinson was dispatched to probe and found Nest 22. The nest was left in situ.

Walkers, Ruby Jenkins and Pam Salvestrini, called in the next crawl about 200 feet north of the trash can on North Beach. Judy Morr probed the 6 body pits but could not find any eggs and marked this as a false crawl. Further down the beach near the birding area, Ruby and Pam found another crawl. Bill and Eilleen Middleton investigated and found the nest. They relocated the 103 eggs of Nest 23 to about 220 yards north of the trash can.

Vicky and Bob Becker found the 4th crawl of the morning behind the yellow house just north of the Club. Mike Vinson also probed this one and found Nest 24. It was left in situ.
